Diabetes type 1 stem cell treatment
Diabetes type 1 can effectively be controlled with the use of adult stem cells.
After a simple infusion of cells over a two week treatment period, a majority of treated patients find their blood sugar stabilised, improved ability to release insulin on their own and a lowered artificial insulin dependency.
Research shows real results for diabetes patients
Breakthrough stem cell research has shown that adult stem cell treatment can safely and effectively treat diabetes type 1. Encouraged by these findings, adult stem cell treatments have now been developed and are quickly becoming a primary treatment method for juvenile or type 1 diabetes at many of Asia’s leading medical facilities.
Since there are no comparable treatments available anywhere else in the world, patients are flocking to China for safe and effective stem cell treatments to treat type one diabetes. In response to this, Vigendo has launched a number of stem cell based programs using adult stem cells for diabetes type 1, diabetes type 2 as well as diabetic neuropathy. Stem cell therapy is becoming recognized in many countries around the world and is the preferred treatment alternative for thousands of effected patients. Contact us today for a free consultation
Data shows efficacy of stem cell therapy for diabetes type 1
80% of all treated patients experienced a stabilized blood sugar level following stem cell therapy. One out of three patients were able to completely phase out daily insulin injections. In addition, the following improvements were observed:
- A much better controlled fasting plasma glucose (FPG)
- Significantly lowered 2 hour plasma glucose (2hPG)
- A significantly lowered glycated hemoglobin value (HBA1C)
- Reduced insulin dosage
- Improved C peptide release test
You may see improvements during your hospitalization due to neurotrophic factors released during the stem cell transplantation, which stimulate nerve activity; new cells will grow for up to six months after you have completed your treatment and you will continue to see results during that time.

Delivery methods and stem cell types
Cutting edge delivery techniques developed in China have increased the efficacy of stem cell treatment in the last few years. Interventional therapy is now used regularly in treatment along side IV drip. These methods, used individually or in combination, safely and effectively enable the stem cells to reach the site of injury, allowing cell regeneration where it's needed.
In treatments for type 1 diabetes the following types of cells are used:
- Umbilical cord stem cells
- Autologous bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells
All stem cells are processed, tested and cultured before implantation. The delivery method and type of stem cell ultimately used for your treatment will be determined by the medical team and depends on your individual condition.
Side effects and risks
As with all medical procedures, you may experience some side effects following your implantation, the most common are: dizziness, nausea, headaches or a slight fever. These side effects do not pose any threat to the overall success of the treatment.
Independent research shows that rejection reactions, tumors or other stronger side effects of stem cell implantation are highly unlikely. Stem cells have, in fact, been shown to reduce rejection reactions in for example organ transplants. These research results are supported by years of clinical use.
